Both journeys described in the memoir are accompanied by photographs, like a score supporting my writing. My father snapped shots of us along the Pan American Highway in 1973. Gary captured the bigger picture in 2003 – things I couldn’t see at seven. I’ve recorded three essays to narrate the images I treasure.
